Our waterfront lifeguard course is a non-surf open water lifeguard course which also includes the pool lifeguard course, but does not include Professional Adult/Child/Infant CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) at the BLS (Basic Life Support) level, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use, O2 (Oxygen Administration), Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness nor Advanced First Aid / Emergency Medical Response (which may be taken separately prior to this course or in combination with it).. It can be adapted to your facilities (bay, lake, lagoon, river, cenote, ...). Duration: 40 hours on-site (not including on-line hours / independent study prior to class).
Prerequisites:
-Minimum age: 18 years.

Requisites:
-Free swim of 500 meters in 10 minutes or less (at pool / confined waters).
-Brick test in 1 minute and 40 seconds or less (at pool / confined waters).
-Horizontal underwater swim of 25 meters (at pool / confined waters).-Run-swim-run 200 meters each portion (at beach / non-surf open water).
-Tread water for 20 minutes.
Recommended:
We recommend lifeguard candidates to obtain Advanced First Aid or Emergency Medical Response certification since certain states (like the State of California) require public safety personnel to possess knowledge and skills beyond basic/standard first aid.
